Artist's Comments

This design is based on some beautiful antique brasswork; I adapted the original and worked Withershins characters and motifs into the zoomorphic designs, and coloured it in a monchrome sepia. It's been used in on a CD, a CD case, and features on the new Withershin website design. There is later, full colour reworking of this image, which I may share soon as well.

i simply cannot understand how you can have such amazing artwork and so few comments... I could stare at it for hours. I love the way you incorporate Jugendtstil motives, and the colours you use to make everything look like its been carved its carved in silver... I'll have your showcase asap! :w00t:

See there! A man born -- and we pronounce him fit for peace.
There's a load lifted from his shoulders with the discovery of his disease.
We'll
take the child from him
put it to the test
teach it
to be a wise man
how to fool the rest.
That is a delectable example of scrollwork, miss. That rocks.

And all is one.
"You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts... and in much of your talking, thinking is half-murdered."
Jugendstil! That's sort of a German-flavored Art Nouveau? I had to look that word up, and I love it. ;D
Thank you so much. As for the lack of comments on my work, I'm baffled as well, but I keep on trouping. I'd be thrilled to see the showcase.
